Feedback and support

When something goes wrong, or when you want a feature added, use in-app feedback, the community, or email. Pro and Lifetime include priority support. Common product questions are in the FAQ.

In-app feedback

The desktop window has a feedback button on the right edge, and the button can be dragged along that edge. Click it and fill in a category, a title, and the details. Categories are problem reports, feature suggestions, usage discussion, and tutorials and docs.

The body supports Markdown. You can paste images, and attach up to 5 images, each up to 5MB, in JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP, or SVG. On desktop you can capture a region of the current window.

When you are signed in, the post is published to the Flexnote forum (opens in a new tab) with that account. When you are not signed in, it is published anonymously. After a successful submit, you can open the post.

If the feedback button has been turned off, turn Show feedback button back on under Settings > Basic Settings.

What to include with a problem report

Include the app version, operating system, steps to reproduce, the expected result, and the actual result, plus a screenshot or the error text. Do not publish API keys, access tokens, cloud credentials, or private note content in a post or an email.

If the app will not start, keep the logs, the app version, and the system version, then send the report. Do not delete database files by hand, and do not overwrite the original data directory. Restoring a local backup is described in Import, export, and backup.
